SocietyUlaanbaatar
/MONTSAME/ On January 10, the General Office for Labor and Social Welfare
Service organized a forum themed ‘Let’s encourage employment of workers who
gained skills abroad’.
At the
forum, government policies aimed at supporting local employment of workers who returned home, having gained knowledge of technological advancements in the countries
they have worked in as well as the return of those who are still working abroad were
presented.
The event brought together over 50
representatives from public, private, and international organizations such as the
Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Research Institute of Labor and Social
Protection, Vocational Education Training Center, and others.
Mongolia
sends workers to South Korea under labor contracts and preparations are
underway to send skilled workers to Japan starting from this year. This necessitates to provide those working abroad with opportunities to return home,
get employed locally, and apply their knowledge and skills gained overseas in Mongolia, and
update domestic laws and regulations accordingly.
At the forum the participants mentioned the necessity of, for example, evaluating and certifying
the workers’ newly-obtained skills as it is of great importance in
matching them to jobs locally.
