Head of NEMA meets Mercy Corps country director

/MONTSAME/ Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Major
General T.Badral met with Country Director of Mercy Corps Mongolia Wendy Guyot,
exchanging views on cooperation between the wo organizations.
The
organizations introduced a mobile messaging system in collaboration with
telephone companies to promptly deliver weather and pasture information to
herders. The system was introduced nationwide and currently, herders and locals
of 1,820 bags of 21 aimags are receiving severe weather information provided by
NEMA and the National Agency Meteorology and the Environmental Monitoring.
At the
meeting, Mercy Corps handed over equipment necessary for ensuring the system's
reliable operation.
