30-bed children’s ward opens at Khan-Uul District Hospital

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A 30-bed children’s ward has been commissioned in Khan-Uul District Hospital with extension of its B corpus within the framework of the project, ‘Dream’, being implemented by Good Neighbors Mongolia NGO.


The second floor of the hospital was extended with the construction of a single-story building of 504 square meters, with a total of 12 examination and treatment rooms. An investment of over MNT 700 million was put into the construction work, and necessary medical equipment, and hospital room furnishings worth over MNT 80 million has also been provided.

 

With the ‘Dream’ children’s ward, the capacity of the district hospital for inpatient care is increased by 40 percent, creating the conditions to offer accessible health care assistance and services to over 60 thousand children in the district.


Having opened its representative office in 2006, Good Neighbors NGO has implemented various long-term programmes in six districts of the capital city, and Darkhan-Uul aimag, involving over 9,800 children and their families.

 

The opening ceremony of the children’s ward was attended by Minister of Health D.Sarangerel, Director of the Good Neighbors Mongolia Representative's Office Joo Sunghyeon, Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of social development issues Sh.Ankhmaa, Head of the Health Department of the Capital City L.Tumurbaatar, and corresponding officials.
