Tourism Minister meets Turkish Ambassador

December 20, Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
Turkey to Mongolia Ahmet Yazal.
At the
meeting, Minister N.Tserenbat informed the Ambassador that during his recent
visit to Turkey, the Minister agreed with Turkish Minister of Culture and
Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy to make effort to elevate the bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, and that decisions were made to open a Cultural
Institute to promote Turkey in Mongolia and vice versa.
He said, “Mongolia
and Turkey are inextricably linked with historic memorials. Turkish people are
interested in visiting Mongolia’s historical and cultural sightseeing, dated
back to the Turkic era. For this reason, Turkish side invests to conserve
historical places of the Turkic era and cooperates with the country in the
tourism sector, such as establishing a museum.”
Turkish Ambassador appreciated the Minister for giving all-round support to Mongolia-Turkey cooperation, notifying that Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy accepted the invitation of Mr.Tserenbat and decided to visit Mongolia next March. “Development of tourism sector in Mongolia and Turkey is opening a new page, which is proven by an upcoming opening of a direct flight by the Turkish Airlines to Mongolia from January 1, 2020,” said the Ambassador, appreciating the Minister’s effort to resolve the direct-flight related issue, which lasted for seven years.
