Cooperation Advancing High School Development and Special Needs Education

Ulaanbaatar, September 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the Education and Training Center of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and the General Authority for Education of Mongolia, Deputy Director of the Shizuoka Prefecture Education and Training Center, Kumiko Yamazaki, and Senior Specialist of the High School Policy Department, Yosuke Tsuji, are working in Ulaanbaatar on September 22–27, 2025.
During this period, Mongolian and Japanese education specialists are exchanging experiences and cooperating in the fields of teacher professional development, high school advancement, and special needs education.
Officials of the General Authority for Education have introduced the visiting experts to the current state of Mongolia’s education sector, priority issues under attention, mother-tongue education of Mongolian children, the use and development of ICT in education, outcomes of the teacher exchange program, integration of teacher professional development into training activities, staff upskilling programs, and the specific features of special needs education in Mongolia.
Representatives of the Shizuoka Prefecture Education and Training Center have conducted training sessions and provided information on methods for improving classroom processes, challenges encountered, creation of environments for independent student research, management of special needs schools in Japan, and teachers’ methods and practices. In addition, they are scheduled to visit and work with general education schools.
