Research result on financial market infrastructure introduced

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Korea (BOK) embarked on the Knowledge Partnership Program in 2015 to provide policy and technical advice for its counterparts in developing countries and the Bank of Mongolia (BOM) has collaborated on the program for the last three years.


Under the program, the two central banks in collaboration with the Sungkyunkwan University of the Republic of Korea carried out a research titled ‘Developing Financial Market Infrastructure, and Making an Efficient, Transparent Database & Information Sharing System’ and discussed its results in Ulaanbaatar on October 31.


At the seminar which involved governmental and non-governmental organizations, members of the research team touched upon Mongolia’s monetary and foreign exchange markets and the current state of their payment and information systems together with the issues challenging them, making recommendations to enhance the systems and answering questions posed by participants.
