Mongolian Economic Forum kicks off

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. ‘Mongolian Economic Forum-2019’ under the theme ‘National Interest’ opens today, October 30, at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI). The annual forum aims to build consensus for defining sustainable economic development policies and addressing pressing challenges faced by key sectors of Mongolia, among policy makers, the business community, academia, and civil society.


This year’s forum is being co-organized by non-governmental organizations working to protects businesses and their interests, namely, MNCCI, Mongolian Economic Forum (MEF) NGO, Mongolian Business Council, CEO Club, without any government involvement. 


First discussion of today held on the topic ‘A Responsible Mongolia’ with panelists of the event mentioning that the main participants of this year’s forum are regular entrepreneurs and civil society representatives in order to have a discussion on challenges businesspeople in Mongolia face and issue recommendations addressing government authorities and decision makers of the country. Panelist of the discussion, economic B.Munkhsoyol noted that since all the negative indicators of business environment of Mongolia eventually happen to be related to irresponsibility, accountability mechanism at all levels plays a decisive role in improving the business environment of Mongolia. 


Also during the event, MNCCI, Economic Policy and Competitiveness Research Center, Mongolian Business Council and CEO Club established a memorandum of understanding to maintain active economic and business cooperation.  


The forum continues with panel discussions ‘Grey Mongolia’ and ‘Creative Mongolia’ today.
