Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A training under the theme, ‘Mobile Census Data Collection with CSPro Android’, is being jointly organized by the UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office, UNFPA Mongolia Office, United States Census Bureau and the National Statistical Office of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar between August 5 and 9.

Over 30 census specialists, researchers and IT specialists of national statistical offices of 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region are attending the training.

The Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro) is a public domain software package for entering, editing, tabulating, and disseminating census and survey data.

As it has now become preferable to keep it “green” throughout the globe, one of the important goals for Mongolia is to introduce paperless technology in gathering and processing data, and reducing the time required. Thus, the training on using technology in data collection being organized by the developers of CSPro is a big step forward in the development of census not only in the countries of Asia, but also all over the world.
