President meets delegates of China Foundation for Desertification Control
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. During his state visit to the People’s Republic of China last April, Mongolia’s President specifically discussed with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping about reducing sand and dust storms and preventing desertification across border areas. The discussion has been subsequently put into action with the visit of a delegation of the China Foundation for Desertification Control (CFDC) to Ulaanbaatar.
In
this regard, President Battulga received the CFDC delegation on June 3.
At
the meeting, CFDC Vice Director Liu Zheng Ying thanked President Kh. Battulga
for the audience and informed of a consensus reached on establishing a joint
non-governmental organization in scope of the works to reduce dust storm and
prevent desertification in border areas.
Moreover,
the Chinese delegation includes the members of a working group in charge of
building a swimming pool in Ulaanbaatar. They assured the President to complete
the construction works on time.
