South Korean visa issues discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Director General of the Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry L.Munkhtushig worked in Seoul, Korea on May 8-9 and held meetings with Deputy Foreign Minister for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Lee Sang-jin and Head of Consular Services Division Yoo In Shig.


At the meetings, the sides shared views on easing the travel conditions for citizens of the two countries, creating road map for travelling without visa in the future and having mutual visa free travel further, which was agreed during the official talks of Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh and Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Nak-yeon, held last March.  


Moreover,  Mr Munkhtushig provided information on ‘Let’s travel responsibly’ campaign jointly running with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia and asked to pay attention on response time to Mongolian citizens applied for Korean visa, which is now lasting for about 3 months.   


During his working visit in Seoul, Director General of the Consular Department L.Munkhtushig got acquainted with activities of Consular Service Center of the Foreign Ministry of the ROK and digital notary and Apostille services.
