Mongolia-Uzbekistan cooperation opportunities discussed

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister B.Battsetseg who is visiting Uzbekistan, met with Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev on April 10, discussing opportunities to cooperate in agriculture sector.


Minister Jamshid Khojaev said that the two countries have a broad opportunity to cooperate in agriculture; in particular, it needs to build contacts between agriculture ministries and establish cooperation documents in certain fields.


“It is possible to receive and train Mongolian students in agriculture college and academy under the Ministry of Agriculture,” said the Agriculture Minister. Uzbekistan exports its fruits, berries and vegetables to over 80 countries; thus it is possible to export ecological products to Mongolia, added the Minister.


In turn, Deputy Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg said that Mongolia can export its meat and meat products to Uzbekistan, while expressing an interest to build a direct contact between organizations in charge of veterinary and quarantines.   


On the same day, Deputy Minister B.Battsetseg met with A.U. Akkulov, Chairman of the state Committee for Tourism Development and L.Sh. Kudratov, Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

Mr. Akkulov expressed his commitment to support organizing a media tour for Mongolian media representatives. Mr. Kudratov put forward a proposal to co-organize a joint forum and meeting in Tashkent and Ulaanbaatar respectively for building contacts between businessmen.
