Consultative meeting between Mongolia and Colombia takes place

/MONTSAME/ The Third Consultative Meeting between the Ministries of Foreign
Affairs of Mongolia and Colombia took place on January 21 in Colombia’s capital
Bogota.
At the
meeting, the sides exchanged opinions on developing bilateral ties in the
spheres such as trade, mining, tourism, culture, agriculture and education and agreed to organize reciprocal visits as well as to establish
agreements on mutual visa free travel for ordinary passport holders and on technical cooperation in the near future.
Colombia receives
about 6.5 million tourists a year and the country’s tourism industry has grown by
150 percent in the last 10 years. By having agreement on mutual visa
exemption, Mongolian citizens will be allowed to travel countries in South
America including Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador and Colombia,
without visa.
Furthermore, the parties expressed to keep up the tradition to support each other within the framework of United Nations, the Forum for East-Asia and Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) and other international organizations and discussed about cooperation possibilities in joining APEC.
