Gross industrial output increases by 21 percent last year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ By preliminary results of 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT 15.7 trillion, showing an increase of MNT 2.7 trillion (21.0percent) from the previous year. This increase was mainly due to an increase of mining and quarrying gross output by MNT 1.8 trillion (19.6percent), of which mining of coal increased by MNT 1.6 trillion (63.1percent) and mining of metal ores increased by MNT 198.3 billion (3.4percent).

 

In December 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT 1.4 trillion, increased by MNT 12.8 billion (0.9percent) compared to the previous month.

 

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in December 2018 was 182.3 (2010=100), increased by 21.5percent from the same period of the previous year and by 2.0percent from the previous month.

 

By preliminary results of 2018, in mining sector, extraction of gold, coal, zinc concentrate and gravel are increased by 4.1-17.3percent. In manufacturing sector, production of combed cashmere, beer, fodder,alcoholic beverage, sausage products, vacuum windows and doors, buuz and dumpling and wooden products, cashmere products, horse meat are increased by 5.3-79.3percent.

 

By preliminary results of 2018, the sales of industrial production reached MNT 18.3 trillion, increased by MNT 3.1 trillion (20.7). From the total sales of industrial production, MNT 12.6 trillion (68.7percent) of sales were export.
