Minister D.Tsogtbaatar meets UN High-representative in charge of landlocked developing countries

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 12, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar met High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States Fekitamoeloa Katoa Utoikamanu.
 
Minister D.Tsogtbaatar expressed gratitude to High Representative Fekitamoeloa Utoikamanu for supporting Mongolia’s proposal to establish the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and its establishment process. Afterwards, they exchanged views on how to cooperate in order to intensify the activities of the International Think Tank for LLDC

Minister D.Tsogtbaatar requested High Representative Fekitamoeloa Utoikamanu to pay attention on rendering financial and other supports to the International Think Thank  for LLDC which aims to conduct a survey on  pressing issues and challenges of landlocked countries, to increase the international trade, specifically benefits from agreements of the World Trade Organizations and to reduce poverty.
 
In turn, High Representative Fekitamoeloa Utoikamanu thanked Mongolia for playing a key role in the establishment of the International Think Tank for LLDC, noting that it is the first intergovernmental entity of the Landlocked Developing Countries.
 
High Representative expressed UN-OHRLLS’s interest in serving as an observer in the board of governors of the International Think Tank for the LLDC.
 
She said that UN-OHRLLS will support the activities of the ITT-LLDC and support countries with similar problems by helping them to protect their interest and position, formulate development policy of their countries, achieve goals of the Vienna Program of Action and SDGs.
