Gobi-Altai Tourism Department calls for citizen to use energy-saving lamps

Gobi-Altai /MONTSAME/ The Department of Environment and Tourism of Gobi-Altai aimag announced that the aimag is celebrating ‘Earth Hour’ under the theme ‘Let’s replace incandescent lamp with energy-saving lamp’ on March 24.

They also called for residents, entities and organizations of Gobi-Altai aimag to join Earth Hour to respond to intensifying climate changes causing extinction to biological species and threatening the world. 

Replacing old halogen lamp with energy-saving lamp is highly significant to save on energy costs and mitigate impacts of climate change.

The first Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. Over 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off for an hour. Earth Hour has expanded as the biggest environmental event which is celebrated in over 180 countries.

Gobi-Altai aimag has joined the international initiative since 2012.
