Projects on tourism to be implemented

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Great Mongolian Empire Museum Projects will be realized in accordance with a cabinet decision made on September 20, with purposes to save the ecosystem in Ugiinuur and Ganga Lakes and to rehabilitate them for boosting sustainable tourism.

Acting Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Oyunkhorol was obliged to implement the projects, while Acting Minister of Finance B.Choijilsuren was instructed to financing the projects by involving them in soft-loans and non-refundable aid from foreign countries or organizations. Governor of Ulaanbaatar city S.Batbold was ordered to give planning permission for building the complex of Great Mongolian Empire Museum.

Mongolia has set a goal to receive one million tourists per year by 2020, but the number of tourist is currently 390-470 thousand a year. Thus, the government considered the necessity of developing the infrastructure for tourism, augmenting routes and frequencies of international transport and producing international standard products and services.
