Almost 100% of baby animals raising well

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Food and Agriculture reported Monday that 15.6 million heads of baby animals are growing up in this lambing period after 15.9 million heads or 66.9% of the total dams have given births nationwide.

This number indicates an increase of 1.4 million heads against the previous week. 43.6 thousand heads of them were colts, 235.5 thousand--foals, 541.8 thousand--calves, 8.2 million--lambs, and 6.9 million--baby goats. It means the country has received 98.3% of the baby animals from total dams.

The animal loss has reached 1,025.7 thousand heads, increasing by 46.0 thousand heads against the previous week. 391 heads of them were camels, 40.3 thousand heads--horses, 100.8 thousand heads--cattle, 375.4 thousand heads--sheep and 508.7 thousand heads--goats, which accounted for 1.8% of the total animals put together.

Sukhbaatar, Uvs, Zavkhan, Arkhangai and Bayankhongor aimags had the largest number of animal loss. 2.4-5.8% of the lost animals were recorded in these aimags.
