Public Art Day to introduce results of Nogoonbaatar Int’l Eco Art Festival
t is a dream of many residents of Ulaanbaatar to live in a beautiful and artistic city, with fresh air and greenery, and its citizens becoming more environmentally friendly. To help make this dream a reality, the Nogoonbaatar International Eco Art Festival, has launched its activities in March of 2021, involving Mongolian, French, Czech and German artists. At the beginning of the festival, artists and experts from Germany, France and the Czech Republic exchanged their experiences on street and public art and green initiatives with 24 artists selected from Mongolia. Due to Covid-19, foreign artists are participating online.

Rare art piece: ‘Khoshuu Naadam’
The original art piece, ‘Khoshuu Naadam’, by Governor of Bishrelt Van khoshuu of Setsen Khan aimag M.Purevjav (1844-1932) is currently being kept at the Museum of Khentii aimag. He was more commonly known as the Old Governor.
Ancient Deel garments dating back to the Mongol Empire
There are more than 10 tombs southwest of a high granite mountain in a place called Bukhiin Khoshuu in Delgerkhaan soum of Khentii aimag. While unearthing and researching the tomb discoveries in 2003, archaeologists of the Mongolian National Museum found three pieces of silk Deel garment and gold-covered buckle and other items.
Accessory-tool set of Buryat wives
Accessories and ornaments worn by a Mongolian woman is generally categorized into of Khalkh, Oirat, and eastern Mongol women. Wives of Khalkha, Dariganga and Barga origin often used headband and head accessories while Oirat women used to wrap their pigtails in a hair holder case and wear earrings, called ‘siik’ at that time.

1300-year-old Stele of Tonyukuk the Wise
A memorial complex consisting of the stele of Tonyukuk the Wise, who served as an advisor to three successive khans of the Turkic Khaganate, and a place of sacrifice is located northwest of Bayantsogt Mountain in Erdene soum, Tuv aimag, and 66 km southeast of Ulaanbaatar city. The complex is put under special protection.
