Mongolian artist attends world’s largest Khuumei Festival
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In Kyzyl, the capital city of the Tuva Republic of Russia, “Khoomei in the center of Asia” international festival was held for three days and concluded on August 19. Throat singers from Russia, China, Mongolia, USA, Finland, France and Japan gathered for the festival. Representing Mongolia, artist, head of the World Khuumei Association D.Khosbayar attended the festival.

3000 traditional artists perform in Ikh Gazriin Chuluu
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Last weekend, an arts and cultural festival “The Sun over the Placid World” was successfully organized at the Ikh Gazriin Chuluu Nature Reserve in Gurvansaikhan soum, Dundgobi aimag. The Ikh Gazriin Chuluu is a large mountain of granite rock in the Gobi Desert famous for its remarkable shapes and figures. The festival involved three thousand traditional long song singers and horse head fiddle (musical instrument Morin Khuur) players.

Museums of Natural History and Dinosaurs to come together in one location

The Government of Mongolia has recently made a decision to demolish the building of the Museum of Natural History, which had been closed to the public since June 2013 for reconstruction. Prior to this decision, on August 3, the Government also announced the decision to merge the Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs with the Museum of Natural History.
National artists perform at the European Folklore Festival
For the first time, Mongolia participated in the 30th European Folklore Festival held in Neustadt in Holstein, Germany between July 26 and August 3.
Foreign tourists experience authentic felt making tradition
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In Khujirt soum of Uvurkhangai aimag, a felt making festival took place for the seventh year, attracting more than 1000 local and foreign tourists. The event was aimed at promoting the felt and felt making tradition, one of the traditional heritage and practices of the Mongolian people, and creating new artifacts combining the traditional way of felt making with modern approaches and attracting tourists.
The Steppes of Genghis Khan: Nomads of Mongolia exhibition on display in Denmark
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Museum of Denmark is organizing an exhibition "The Steppes of Genghis Khan: Nomads of Mongolia" . Visitors are able to time travel on the Trans-Siberian Railway, a towering Ger, a magical bonfire site and the mummy of a warrior.
"Tea Road" cultural and heritage festival to be held
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ From 13 to 16 August. “Tea Road” heritage and cultural festival will be organized for the second time in Khovd aimag, home to many ethnic groups. There are people of 17 ethnic groups, such as Altai Uriankhai, Durvud, Zakhchin, Myangad, Olot, Torghut, Khalkha, Khoshut, Kazakh and Tuva live in 17 soums of Khovd aimag. This festival aims to promote and pass down the tangible and intangible cultural heritage, folk art and tea culture of these ethnic communities and develop local tourism sector.
"Discovery Channel" on hiking tour in western Mongolia
