Historical tourism to be developed in the birthplace of Chinggis Khaan
Within the Government’s goal to develop historical and specialized tourism, a number of major projects are planned to increase the international tourist arrivals to one million and revenues from the sector to USD 1.1 billion. In this regard, the eastern region will be redeveloped as tourism region and major construction works to attract tourists commenced last year at the sites related to Chinggis Khaan, 13th century history and the Secret History of the Mongols in Khentii aimag, the great khan’s birthplace.
