Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Not long after Mongolia confirmed its fifth coronavirus case late yesterday, March 17, the sixth case of coronavirus was reported by the Ministry of Health today, March 18 at its daily 11 AM press briefing on the situations around the coronavirus outbreak.

‘Munkhiin Tun’ LLC produces 45 thousand masks daily
The World Health Organization recommends regular usage of face masks in order to take preventive measures against the ‘COVID-19’ novel coronavirus that is transmitted through droplets in the air. Countries are having factories work at its full capacity to meet their domestic demand for face masks. During this difficult time, the only face mask factory in the country is operating 24/7, providing 45 thousand face masks each day.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the evening of March 17, Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced the fifth confirmed case of coronavirus in Mongolia.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Amid concerns over the novel coronavirus outbreak, the State Emergency Commission (SEC) resolved to put off coal and petroleum exports in February until March 15.

Three citizens that arrived on charter flights test positive for COVID-19
Three Mongolian citizens that arrived in Mongolia on the charter flights en route Seoul-Ulaanbaatar, and Berlin-Ulaanbaatar have tested positive for COVID-19 from the preliminary laboratory tests. The Ministry of Health informed about the situation at its urgent announcement yesterday on March 16 at 10.50 pm.

244 citizens return from the Republic of Korea
Upon the decisions of the Government and the State Emergency Commission, 244 Mongolian nationals returned to their homeland yesterday at 16:40 on a charter flight of the MIAT Mongolian Airlines in route Seoul-Ulaanbaatar.

207 people tested negative after contact with French coronavirus patient
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Press Office of the Government's Cabinet Secretariat today reported that 207 people, who had close and indirect contact with the French national, who was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Mongolia,  including those who took the same flight with him from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar, have all been tested negative for coronavirus.

Donation of MNT 391 million handed over to China
On March 13, a ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to donate the funds raised by the ‘Aid from the Heart to our Eternal Neighbor’ campaign mounted by the Government of Mongolia to support the fight against COVID-19 outbreak.

Members of the Mongolian Medical Engineers Association, biomedical equipment engineers and technicians handed over 275 pieces of test kits for quick detection of coronavirus to the Ministry of Health.

9.2 million sq.m public area to be decontaminated
 In frames of preventive measures against coronavirus spread, disinfection works have being carried out since February 8 in over 11.600 food, factory and service places and sales points of the capital city by 37 organizations with special licenses.

126 people who had close contact with the French national tested negative
Tests of 126 people, who had direct contact with the French national, who detected to be infected with COVID-19, such as having same flights and train travel as well as shaking hands, were confirmed negative, reported D.Nyamkhuu, director of National Center for Communicable Disease (NCCD), at a press briefing of the Ministry of Health today.

 At its regular meeting held today, the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) made a decision to reduce the policy rate by 1.0 percentage point to 10.0 percent.
