PM: The 41 COVID-19 imported cases in Mongolia is a serious warning for us
On May 7, Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh became acquainted with the progress of the emergency management exercise for COVID-19 response and correlation of countermeasures, and got in contact with the operative team working at the Ministry of Health as well as the operative team of the Emergency Commission of Chingeltei district of the capital city from the Emergency Management and Warning Center of the National Emergency Management Agency.

Mongolia not to be subject to Vietnam’s rice exports restrictions
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Mongolia Nguyen Thi Doan informed today to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry that Mongolia will not be subject to rice export restrictions imposed by the Government of Vietnam until the end of June and handed over the letter from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Cuong.

Within the framework of the emergency management exercise for COVID-19 response and correlation of countermeasures, a quarantine drill is being organized in Chingeltei district of the capital city today, May 7. Due to this, all road and pedestrian traffic in the district are closed from 8 AM to 6 PM today.

Smartphone application for Mongolians abroad available
Currently, the Ministry of Health and the Communications and Information Technology Authority are jointly operating the 119 helpline for advice and information regarding COVID-19. This time, a smartphone application called ‘Shuurkhai 119’ has been developed for the Mongolian citizens abroad.

Hospital preparations for COVID-19 emergency response drill checked
Starting from today, drill and exercise for correlation and countermeasures during the COVID-19 pandemic will be taking place until May 8. In its framework, Minister of Health D.Sarangerel and Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city S.Amarsaikhan became acquainted with the preparations being done for the drill at the new maternity hospital in Yarmag soon to be put to operation on May 5.

Zayiin Gegeen Monastery
The Zayiin Gegeen Monastery was founded north of Tamir River near Bulgan Mountain by Begtesjav Sain Noyon Khaan, the second son of Tumenkhen Sain Noyon in 1631. With expansions in their activities throughout the years of 1679-1930, it became one of the biggest Khalkh monasteries.
