At its regular session held today, the Parliament approved the draft law on ratification of the COVID-19 Crisis Emergency Support Loan Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) which was submitted by the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy.

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene services being improved in three aimags
The Ministries of Finance and Health and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) signed a trilateral agreement in 2019 to implement the USD 4.5 million project ‘Community-based Climate Resilient water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) Interventions in Mongolia’ in Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai, and Zavkhan aimags in 2019-2021 through joint efforts of KOICA and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Mongolia reports 11 new COVID-19 cases
At the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health today, December 2, A.Ambaselmaa, a head of Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD), reported that the coronavirus was detected in 11 people after testing 12015 people within the past 24 hours.

 At its irregular meeting held today at 5 pm, the Cabinet made a decision to extend the period of strict-lockdown in Ulaanbaatar city, Arkhangai and Selenge aimags, where the spread of COVID-19 still exists, by 10 days, until December 11.

Musk deer reintroduced to Bukhun Shar Range
As part of the ‘Ensuring tolerance and stability of Mongolia's natural environment’ project, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the United Nations Development Programme are reintroducing Badanga Khuder or musk deer (Moschus Moschiferus) - one of the rarest animals in Mongolia whose population has been decreasing over recent years due to poaching - to its previous habitats.
