President Khurelsukh Participates in 80th UNGA General Debate

/MONTSAME/. The General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations
General Assembly (UNGA) commenced on September 23, 2025.
After being officially welcomed by
UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the UN Headquarters in New York,
United States of America, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa participated
in the opening of the General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations
General Assembly.
Heads of State and Government of
over 150 UN member countries are participating in this Session’s General
Debate.
The Commemorative Session of UNGA’s
80th Anniversary is being organized under the theme “Better Together: 80 Years
and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights.”
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh
Ukhnaa will deliver a speech during the General Debate, expressing Mongolia’s position
on pressing international relations issues. The 80th UNGA will continue from
September 9, 2025, until late December 2025.
Former Foreign Minister of the
Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, is working as President of the
General Assembly. The Assembly will deliberate on 174 agenda items of vital
importance to the nations of the world, including international peace and
security, disarmament, peacekeeping operations, combating transnational crime
and terrorism, international law, social and economic issues, sustainable
development, climate change, human rights, humanitarian assistance provided by
the UN, and the financing of the UN’s operational budget, and will adopt
relevant decisions.
The six committees of the Assembly
will begin operations on October 6, 2025.
