‘Year of promoting patriotic purchase’ announced

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ The
cabinet announced 2019 as ‘Year of promoting patriotic purchase’ with a purpose
to support national production, decrease import, increase jobs and improve budget
efficiency.
The Government appealed
public, organizations and businesses to purchase and use domestically produced
goods.
In this regard, ministries,
heads of agencies, governors of aimags and the capital city and chiefs of
state-owned companies and organizations to formulate a plan of actions within
the year, implement the plan in their respective sectors and areas accordingly,
and report their half-year and annual performance to the Council of Industrial
Policy.
G.Zandanshatar, Head of the
Cabinet Secretariat of the Government, will be responsible for overseeing implementation of the resolution and report it to the Government.
Public organizations should contribute to the patriotic purchase. In 2017, 22 public organizations spent
over MNT47 billion on purchasing 12 kinds of products that were domestically
produced. But it made up just four percent of total purchases. Now the Ministry
of Finance is preparing a report on how much money spent on domestic purchases in
2018.
