The highest number of tourists were from Russia 36 percent and China 32.6 respectively.

Number of tourists to Mongolia is expected to increase as a result of ‘Genco Tour Bureau’ JSC cooperation agreements conducted with Asian and European countries in 2017. For instance, the company has received 100 pre-orders only from French tourists. According to the NSO, number of visitors from France reached 570 in the first quarter of this year. An average 500 French tourists visit Mongolia per quarter.

Moreover, number of tourists from the Republic of Korea has increased recently. Total of 7157 Korean tourists visited Mongolia in the first quarter of this year, with a 15.7 percent increase from the same period of 2017. The industry experts emphasize that the direct flights in route Ulaanbaatar-Busan, made once a week by ‘Air Busan’ LLC and four times a week by MIAT Mongolian Airlines, have a major impact on the increase of tourist arrivals.
