Mongolia to host 13th Meeting of APSCO Council
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia to host 13th Meeting of the Council of Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) in November 2019. The 12th Meeting of the Council of APSCO was held in Beijing, China from 11-13 November 2018 and made this decision.
Mr. Chinbat Baatarjav, Chairman of Communications and Information Technology Authority of Mongolia, hosted the Meeting as the Chairman of APSCO Council.The Council Members from Bangladesh, China, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand, Turkey and Observer State Mexico attended the Meeting.
The 12th Meeting of APSCO Council approved the Budget for 2019 and the proposal of establishment of the new department of ‘Program Operation and Data Service’, Feasibility Studies on 4 projects, cooperation Agreements on Degree Education with three top space-related Universities: Northwestern Polytechnic University of China (NPU), Harbin Institute of Technology and Beihang University as well as Memorandum of Understanding with NPU on establishment of APSCO-NPU Talents Training Base. The Council approved another tripartite Agreement between CNSA-APSCO-CMA, on Application of FY Meteorological Satellite Data. This would help the member States to get accurate weather data for wide ranging requirements. Besides, the Council also approved two instruments of international cooperation: MoU with IAF as Partner Organization and Protocol with APSCO’s sister Organization, ESA.These cooperation opportunities would open new vistas and opportunities for the member States, in the future.
