Harvest running at 58 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. As of October 9, 231.8 thousand tons of wheat, 156.9 thousand tons of potatoes and 84.4 thousand tons of vegetables have been harvested, which means wheat harvesting is at 44.3 percent, potatoes at 95 percent and vegetables at 89 percent. Overall, harvest is running at 58 percent nationwide.
Compared to previous years, this year’s harvest per hectare has increased significantly. For instance, an average of 0.8 tons of wheat was harvested from 1 hectare last year, while this year, the average is currently 1.4 tons.
