A film named “Don't look at me that way” by a Mongolian director Uizenmaa Borkhuu won the Best New Director Award in the 37th Bavaria Film Festival took place on January 15 in the Prince Regent Theatre of Munich, Germany.

Together with the award’s trophy, she received a cash prize of 10 thousand Euros.

Besides directing the film, Uizenmaa has played a leading role in the film as Hedi. Through her film, she aimed to express present image of women, their behavior, essence of life and inner world. The jury said Uizenmaa’s debut film, “Don't look at me that way”, is an idiosyncratic and provocative film, which tells the story of two young women who meet at completely different stages of life and together form a turbulent relationship. The film is said to have turned all conventional gender roles upside down and tells a story about family, power, guilt and dependence through a disturbing game.

The film previously received the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film at the Munich International Film Festival on July 4, 2015, and an award of “Unique idea” in a film festival held in Tarragona city of Spain.
