Livestock to be vaccinated

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ P.Sergelen, Acting Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, was ordered to rapidly finish immunization of livestock by establishing a direct contract on buying vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and rinderpest. The money for the vaccines will be allotted from the Minister’s budget.
Until December 20, 2017, control points will be set up to monitor, sterilize and disinfect migrations of people, animals and vehicles. The acting ministers, mayor and head of agencies were ordered to support with professional agencies, man power and armed force personnel, if necessary, in times of cattle plague.
Presently, Munkhkhaan, Asgat and Baruun-Urt soums of Sukhbaatar Aimag, Sergelen soum of Tuv Aimag, Gurvansaikhan, Ulziit and Saintsagaan soums of Dundgobi Aimag, Bayankhutag and Murun soums of Khentii Aimag, as well as Songinokhairakhan and Khan-Uul districts are in quarantine.
