Spring sowing campaign almost completed
Economy | AgricultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Food and Agriculture reported Monday that the wheat sowing has been completed by June 3, while the planting of potatoes and vegetables is continuing.
The sowing of crops and oil plants has surpassed the targets, reaching 102.9% and 114.3%, respectively. Furthermore, the planting of potatoes has reached 81.1%, vegetables--68.1% and fodder plants--39.7%.
As of June 3, crops have been planted on 332.2 thousand hectare, of which wheat--on 314.5 thousand hectares, other grain plants--on 17.7 thousand hectare, potatoes--on 10.9 hectare, vegetables--on 4.8 thousand hectare, fodder plants--on 6.4 thousand hectare, and oil plants--on 28.9 thousand hectare, thereby 99.5% of the sowing campaign have been accomplished.
