‘The MongolZ’ Wins Bronze Medal at PGL Bucharest 2026

April 13, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The second-tier esports tournament “PGL Bucharest 2026” for Counter-Strike
2 (CS2) held its final-stage matches in Bucharest, Romania, where team “The
MongolZ” secured the bronze medal.
In the tournament, which had a prize pool of USD
1.2 million, they defeated Russia’s
“PARIVISION” 2–1 in the quarterfinals but lost 0–2 to “FUT Esports” in the
semifinals. However, they claimed a dominant 2–0 victory over France’s “3DMAX”
in the third-place match. In that game, “The MongolZ” conceded only seven
rounds while winning 26, with Techno (Sodbayar Munkhbold) delivering the highest performance. This marks
the team’s first medal in five top-tier tournaments they have
participated in since the beginning of 2026. By finishing third at “PGL
Bucharest 2026,” they earned USD 150,000 in prize money and have risen to fifth place in the world
rankings.
Next, they are set to compete in the “PGL Astana 2026” tournament, which will begin on May 7 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The event features a USD 1.6 million prize pool and will see 16 of the world’s top teams compete. In addition to “The MongolZ,” Mongolia will also be represented by team “Huns Esports.”
