Ulaanbaatar, May 9, 2025 /MONTSAME/. As part of the Energy Efficient Building Refurbishment in Mongolia Project (EEP), heat loss in public school and kindergarten buildings will be reduced, and their technical systems will be modernized.

This Project is part of Mongolia’s efforts to meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In this regard, Minister of Education of Mongolia Naranbayar Purevsuren held a meeting and exchanged views with Project Advisor of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) B. Sarnai and representatives of the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing of Mongolia.

Efforts to reduce heat loss in schools and kindergartens have been implemented in recent years in cooperation with international organizations. Notably, in 2022, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) carried out thermal renovations of 22 school and kindergarten buildings in the Ger districts of the Capital City. As part of the Energy Efficient Building Refurbishment in Mongolia Project, a list and assessment of buildings in need of insulation will be developed going forward.

Minister Naranbayar highlighted the importance of this Project and proposed future collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing of Mongolia and International Donor Organizations.
