President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Congratulates Honored Athlete of Mongolia Tsendbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, February 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa received Honored Athlete of Mongolia Tsendbaatar Erdenebat and leading professional boxing athletes on February 17, 2025.
At the World Boxing Association (WBA) Central Asia Lightweight Championship, one of the four major international professional boxing organizations, Tsendbaatar Erdenebat defeated Mexican boxer Pedro Bernal Rodriguez, securing his sixth Championship Belt. The tournament also saw Honored Athlete of Mongolia Tugstsogt Nyambayar and five other Mongolian boxers compete against top-ranking global athletes, all securing victories.
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa congratulated the athletes on their perseverance and achievements, highlighting how they exemplified the endurance, strength, and determination of the Mongol people. President Khurelsukh wished them continued success in their boxing careers.
With this victory, Tsendbaatar Erdenebat qualified for the upcoming World Championship qualifying tournament in Los Angeles in May 2025. He stated that he is preparing with his team in the United States, supporting younger athletes, and striving to further develop professional boxing in Mongolia. He also expressed his aspiration to establish an annual boxing tournament under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, believing such an event would inspire young athletes and elevate Mongolia’s presence in the global boxing scene.
The “Night of Champions Ulaanbaatar-2025” event, held for the first time in Ulaanbaatar, was a resounding success, selling out all tickets and drawing over 150,000 viewers via live broadcast.
