Mongolian Children Earn Grand Cup at the International Youth Robot Competition

Ulaanbaatar, August 13, 2024 /MONTSAME/.  The 11th International Youth Robot Competition was successfully held in Daejeon, South Korea, under the theme “My Robot, Time to Save the Earth," on August 2-3, 2024.


Over two days, approximately two thousand children aged 6 to 17 from 25 countries participated in the International Youth Robot Competition.


Two Mongolian teams competed in the competition. The team, consisting of N. Ermuun, M. Gereltdalai, S. Unubold, T. Yalguun, and E. Dulguun, earned the Grand Cup with the project "Anti-Desertification Project." The other team, composed of T. Enkhtamir, M. Enkhtushig, T. Garid, T. Tsogt-Ochir, and T. Anand, claimed the silver trophy for the project "Marine Waste Separation Facility."


Mongolia has participated in the International Youth Robot Competition for the past three consecutive years, building a robot using the "MRT" STEM educational game. The competition, which was launched in 2023, will be hosted by Brazil and Malaysia next year.


Mongolia captured 11 gold, five silver, and five bronze medals, along with gold and bronze trophies in the previous two competitions.
