B. Mungunzul Wins Bronze Medal at World Chess Championships

Ulaanbaatar, August 6, 2024 /MONTSAME/. FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships 2024 concluded in Astana, Kazakhstan.


The Championships began on August 1, 2024, and lasted for five days. The "Hunnu Air" team from Mongolia, led by Grandmaster S. Bilguun, competed successfully. The team included International Master M. Amilal, U. Agibileg, FIDE Master S. Chinguun, Candidate Master B. Mungunzul, and Junior Master A. Erkhembayar.


Candidate Master B. Mungunzul, who played on the fifth board, won a bronze medal in the individual standings, marking a new milestone in Mongolian chess history.
