Growing Cooperation in Education and Science between Mongolia and Belarus Highlighted

Luvsantseren has met Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus,
Andrei I. Ivanets.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister L. Enkh-Amgalan
highlighted the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Mongolia and the Republic of Belarus, expressing gratitude for maintaining
the traditionally friendly relations. The Minister also noted that the cooperation
has been expanding in education and science, as well as in the economy,
agriculture, and transport sectors, in recent years.

Ivanets expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries
will continue to grow.
The parties discussed issues to expand cooperation in priority
areas of science, technology, and innovation, including forest farming and restoration,
agriculture, history, and archaeology studies, meeting the needs of the two
countries.
Additionally, discussions covered issues of increasing the
scholarship quotas provided by the Government of Belarus, particularly under
the 2018 Presidential Decree of the Republic of Belarus, for Mongolian citizens,
cooperating in vocational and technical education to train professional
personnel, organizing advanced training courses for Mongolian specialists in
agriculture through cooperation between the Mongolian University of Life
Sciences and the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, and developing
cooperation between the Forest Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of
Belarus and the Botanic Garden and Research Institute of the Mongolian Academy
of Sciences.
During the meeting, the following agreements were signed:
- A Roadmap for Cooperation in the Education Sector between the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus (2024-2026),
- An Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the
Government of the Republic of Belarus on the Mutual Recognition of Educational Documents,
- An Agreement between the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus in the Science and Technology Sector,
- An Agreement on Cooperation between the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
To note, within the framework of the Intergovernmental Agreement
on Cooperation in the Education Sector, currently, 28 Mongolian students are
studying under the Belarusian Government's Scholarship Program. Furthermore,
under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Mongolian Science and
Technology Foundation and the Belarusian Basic Research Foundation, Belarus
financed a total of 35 projects with MNT 323.7 million from 2009 to 2022.
