Honored Athlete of Mongolia Ankhtsetseg Secures Spot in Paris 2024 Olympics

Ulaanbaatar, May 27, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The International Weightlifting Federation has officially announced the final list of athletes who will compete in weightlifting at the Olympic Games "Paris-2024". Representing Mongolia, M. Ankhtsetseg, the Honored Athlete of Mongolia and Weightlifting World Champion, has met the requirements to compete in the "Paris-2024" Summer Olympics in the women's 81 kg weightlifting category. According to regulations, the National Olympic Committee will confirm this list on May 31, 2024.


In the weightlifting competition, there are only five male and five female weight categories, with the top 10 athletes in each category earning Olympic qualifications based on their ranking points from continental and world championships and international competitions held between 2022 and 2024. In the 81 kg weight category, in which M. Ankhtsetseg will compete, athletes from Ecuador, Egypt, Norway, Australia, South Korea, Cuba, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Uzbekistan have also qualified for the Olympic Games "Paris-2024".
