Slightly warmer temperatures expected in most parts of the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The weather is expected to be stable in most parts of the country in the coming few days, with daytime temperatures becoming slightly warmer.

 

Snowfall and blizzards are expected near the Altai mountains on January 5, in the mountainous areas of Altai and Khuvsgul on January 6, in the mountainous areas of Khuvsgul and Khentii on January 7, and in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, and Khentii, and near the basins of Orkhon, Selenge, Kharaa, Yuruu, Onon, and Ulz rivers on January 8.

 

Wind speed will be 5-10 m/sec during most times, reaching 12-14 m/sec at times in the Gobi and plains on January 7 and 8.

 

With temperatures becoming slightly warmer, in the depression of Uvs Lake and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan River, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basins of Ider, Tes, and Baidrag rivers, the temperature will range from -32 to -37 degrees Celsius during the night, and -20 to -25 during the day.

 

In the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, and in the basins of Eg, Uur, Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, Ulz, and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will range between -24 and -29 degrees Celsius during the night, and -11 to -16 during the day.

 

In the southern Gobi region and areas without a layer of snow, the night-time temperature will be -13 to -18 degrees Celsius, and the daytime temperature will be 0 to -5 degrees Celsius.

 

In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -19 to -24 during the night, and -6 to -11 during the day.
