Two small quakes recorded in Umnugobi aimagEnvironment
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 25, two small earthquakes were reported in Umnugobi aimag. The first quake, which struck at 6.11 pm, was measured with a 3.6 magnitude. The quake was recorded approximately 38 km north of the aimag’s Sevrei soum.
The second quake struck at 8.51 pm and was measured at a 4.9 magnitude. It was recorded approximately 15 km southwest of Bayan-Ovoo soum, reports the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
