Closing workshop held for project to localize Sustainable Development-2030 Programme

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Closing Workshop of the project
to localize the Sustainable Development – 2030 Programme through introducing
sustainable urban resource management by supporting forest conservation and
restoration in green zones of Ulaanbaatar brought together all the major
stakeholders of the project after its two-year implementation.
During this period the project enjoyed a successful
collaboration with the Ulaanbaatar City Environmental Department and other relevant
agencies and departments at the city, academic and research institutions, NGOs
and private sector representatives working in the forestry sector.
At the Closing Workshop, participants came to discuss in a
wider setting the resulting achievements, lessons learned, and the ways to
sustain and use the results of research and awareness raising activities
carried out as part of the project by strengthening evidence-based decision
making and improving multi-stakeholder collaboration.
The Project on Localizing Sustainable Development – 2030
Programme through Introducing Sustainable Urban Resource Management in
Ulaanbaatar implemented jointly by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia
and the Pacific of the United Nations (ESCAP) of the Unit ed Nations, United
Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Asia Foundation.
