Some measures to be taken on the integrated planning of new satellite cities in Khushig Valley

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At the Cabinet meeting held today, June 30, the Minister of Construction and Urban Development was obliged to formulate a project for the regional development according to the concept on the integrated planning of new satellite cities of Khushig Valley in Tuv aimag within the third quarter of this year, and submit it for the Cabinet consideration.


In addition, it was decided to acquire the land from Altanbulag and Sergelen soums for the state special needs with a purpose to develop new satellite cities and implement large-scale national construction and infrastructure projects and programs on the territories of the soums.


In this regard, Minister of Energy was deputed to intensify the work of commissioning a thermal power plant in Zuunmod soum to be constructed with a soft loan from the Exim Bank of the Republic of Korea and the extension of the ‘Zuunmod’ sub-station to be built with the state funding, with a view to create a source of heat and electricity supply for new satellite cities. In addition, Minister of Construction and Urban Development and Minister of Finance were assigned to work out and present a proposal on the implementation of a housing project within the framework of the first phase of construction work.     


According to the ordinance of the Prime Minister of Mongolia, a working group headed by the Minister of Construction and Urban Development was set up to develop an integrated plan for the new satellite cities of Khushig valley in Tuv aimag and to provide unified management and organization of construction work. At today’s Cabinet meeting, Minister of Construction and Urban Development presented a concept of the integrated planning.
