26th khoroo of Bayanzurkh District in Ulaanbaatar placed under lockdown

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Emergency Commission of the Bayanzurkh District in Ulaanbaatar city has reported that increased restrictions are placed in the 26th khoroo of the Bayanzurkh District, beginning from 6 AM, March 17, Wednesday until 11 PM, March 21, Sunday.


The area with more than 31,000 residents is considered at high risk of COVID-19 infection. 


During this period, complete restrictions are imposed on vehicle and pedestrian movements into and out of the 26th khoroo and only emergency personnel will be permitted to enter this area. 


Around 16,000 people living in this area above the age of 18 will be PCR tested for COVID-19 within March 18, and some 2,800 people aged 50-65 years old will be vaccinated against COVID-19 and disinfection and sterilization measures will be taken on the whole territory of the khoroo before the restrictions are lifted. 


Residents in the khoroo are urged to leave home only for essential trips, and all activities other than grocery stores, pharmacies and hospitals are restricted.
