Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On August 5, Minister of Labor and Social
Protection A.Ariunzaya received Ambassador of Australia to Mongolia Mr. Dave
Vosen.
The Australian Embassy in Mongolia announces aid programs every year. Most of the programs are linked to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, for instance, child protection etc. The Ambassador said, “The program will be continual. Besides, we are collaborating with the ministry on the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding on Work - Holiday Visa Agreement. It is currently unsuitable to talk about concluding this Memorandum at this time when the inbound and outbound movements have been suspended. The next issue is about technical and vocational education and training (TVET), an essential area to create employment. Our government provides a significant amount of funding to TVETs through GIZ. We are ready for cooperation if support is in need to disseminate information and raise public awareness in this area.”
The Minister said, "Training students based on labor
market demands, in particular on the needs of employers, supports a direct job
placement. Despite its small population, the country has 130 universities. Many
tertiary educated people are unemployed; thus, we will pay great attention to TVET
issues."
