One new COVID-19 case confirmed, total 141

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. In Mongolia, one new COVID-19 case
was recorded, bringing the total number at 141, reported D.Nyamkhuu, Director
of the NCCD, at today’s daily press briefing of the Ministry of Health.
A novel coronavirus was detected in a student, one of returnees from Russia on May 13, as a result of repeated testing.
“Yesterday, a total of 403 people were tested in four
laboratories, and 402 of them were negative, but a military student who is under
isolation at the NCCD has tested positive. Among the students who arrived on
May 13, 55 COVID-19 cases were firstly detected, but it increased to 57 as a result
of the repeated testing.
“Good news, there are two new recoveries. They are now being
transferred into next stage isolation. The average duration of treatment is
around 30-40 days,” said D.Nyamkhuu.
Out of 141 COVID-19 cases that are all imported in Mongolia, 28 patients have recovered and 113 people are undergoing treatment at the NCCD.
