Tourism Training Center to train professional tourism workers

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 6, Minister of Environment
and Tourism N.Tserenbat, Ministry officials, and representatives of the Embassy
of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) attended
the groundbreaking ceremony of the Tourism Training Center, which the Ministry
of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism of the Republic of Korea agreed to build in a place called Artsat zadgai.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Minister N.Tserenbat and KTO's
Mongolia office director Park Jung-woong signed the RoD for Strengthening Human
Capacity in the Tourism Field of Mongolia.
During the signing ceremony, Minister N.Tserenbat expressed
his confidence that the Tourism Training Center will elevate tourism service
standards in Mongolia. “The project will introduce a master
training program, advanced textbooks, and handouts that follow international
hospitality standards and global trends, thus playing a big role in training tourism
workers who can provide professional services to international travelers and
tourists,” he said.
Mongolian ministries of tourism and finance and KTO
established an agreement in June 2019 to jointly implement the Project to Strengthen
the Capability of Mongolian tourism workforce. As part of the 2019-2020
project, a master plan on the capacity building of Mongolian tourism workforce and
a training program based on that master plan were developed and experimental
training courses took place
The Tourism Training Center Establishment Project is a long-term project worth KRW 5.5 billion.
