State Great Khural to Prioritize Strengthening Legislation Against Cybercrime

Ulaanbaatar, June 6, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve, Member of Parliament and Head of the Mongolian People’s Party Group in Parliament Munkhbaatar Lkhagva, and Secretary-General of the State Great Khural Baasandorj Barsuren participated in the 10th Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors, being held in Ulaanbaatar.
The Conference is taking place under the theme “Evolving Role of Prosecutors: Challenges and Best Practices in Tackling Cybercrime.” The Chairman of the State Great Khural expressed confidence that the Conference will have a notable impact on combating various crimes that violate the rights and freedoms of others and inflict serious harm through the misuse of digital platforms and social media.
According to the Media and Public Relations Department of the State Great Khural, the Chairman also emphasized that preventing and effectively combating the dangers of cybercrime aligns fully with the new Parliament’s policy, which promotes pluralism and has initiated people-centered legal and judicial reforms. Chairman Amarbayasgalan underlined the importance of ensuring that laws keep pace and improve with the changing times, adding that the State Great Khural is open to productive initiatives resulting from the Conference aimed at improving legislation to combat cybercrime.
