Educational training centers allowed to reopen

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At the cabinet meeting of May 6, cabinet resolution on the reopening of training centers submitted by the State Emergency Commission was approved. As a result, 1,088 training centers will be opened gradually, providing training to only people over the age of 16, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

On May 4, the State Emergency Commission (SEC) decided to reopen training centers that offer short-term educational courses step by step. Mongolia has a total of 1,088 licensed training centers, including 414 vocational training centers, 255 language schools, and 419 driving schools.

Education training centers will be allowed to get back to business as long as they fulfill all safety and health guidelines and rules, such as to constantly check the temperatures of students, enforce mandatory use of face mask to everyone, place the desks 1 to 1.5 meters apart, have not more than 10 people in one training session, make alcohol-based hand sanitizers available for use in classrooms, conduct frequent disinfection in classrooms and others.

Also at the meeting, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg was instructed to organize classroom training for about 30,000 students of 12th or final grade of high school. At the request of parents of the students, a one-month training for the general entrance exam will be conducted only in the school environment, following the infection prevention regime, starting from May 11. 

In this regard, 40-50 students will be allowed in one school and no more than 10 students in each training session in a classroom, according to the Media and Public Relations Department of the Government.
