Ambassador T.Tugsbilguun pays farewell call on Prime Minister of Thailand

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On 17 April 2020, H.E. Mr.
Tugsbilguun Tumurkhuleg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
Mongolia to the Kingdom of Thailand paid a farewell call on His Excellency
General (Ret.) Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha
congratulated the Ambassador on his successful mission in Thailand and noted
his personal contribution to strengthening the bilateral ties and cooperation
during his four and a half year-tenure. The Prime Minister also recalled warmly
his visit to Mongolia and participation in the 11th ASEM Summit held in
Ulaanbaatar in 2016.
Furthermore, the Thai Prime Minister spoke highly of the
Mongolian Government’s efficient measures in preventing and containing the
COVID-19 pandemic and expressed a hope that the people-to-people contacts would
be further expanded following the resumption of direct flights between the two
capitals.
On his part, Ambassador T. Tugsbilguun expressed his
profound gratitude to the Royal Thai Government for its valuable support and
cooperation in discharging his duties as Ambassador of Mongolia to Thailand and
briefed the Prime Minister on the current state of the bilateral relations. In
particular, he noted the successful organization of the First Meeting of
Mongolia-Thailand Consultative Body on Bilateral Cooperation and the
establishment of Sister City Relations between Ulaanbaatar and Bangkok.
Moreover, the Mongolian Ambassador praised the successful
and effective measures taken by the Royal Thai Government under the leadership
of H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha to contain COVID-19, which has seen its curve
flatten in recent days. The sides expressed their confidence that both
countries would prevail by containing and eradicating this pandemic in the near
future.
