Ulaanbaatar city’s road network development plan discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At last week’s meeting of the Council of Capital City Governor, a presentation was made on a proposed mid and long term master plan for road network development of Ulaanbaatar city. 


The growing population and continuing residential expansion in Ulaanbaatar city requires broadening of auto road networks in line with the city’s sustainable development agenda. It has been planned that the total length of road network will be brought up to 2015.2 km in total.


The road network will be well-matched to the urban development trend, population growth and demands and infrastructure network, while fulfilling all the needs for safety and convenience, and are connected to roads of environmentally friendly countries and international highway networks. 


At the meeting, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city gave an order to corresponding officials to complete the ongoing modernization of traffic signs by April 01, 2020. 


Another topic discussed at the meeting was construction progress of the Selbe and Bayankhoshuu sub-centers within the framework of “Urban Services and Ger areas development investment program” project for infrastructure and construction development in the capital city’s Ger areas, such as Selbe, Bayankhoshuu, Dambadarjaa, Denjiin Myanga, Sharkhad, and Tolgoit. 


Project Coordinator D.Avirmed introduced that as part of the aforementioned program, the construction of sub-centers in Selbe and Bayankhoshuu are 80 percent complete as of today and will be ready for commissioning by fall 2020.
